About eviflow

The name eviflow combines two concepts:

  • evi stands for evidence-based: the counselling workflows are based on the latest scientific recommendations, clinical guidelines, and the principles of Evidence-Based Pharmacy.
  • flow refers to the structured counselling process that guides the pharmacy team step by step and integrates seamlessly into everyday practice.

Evidence-Based Pharmacy (EBPharm) combines three equally important elements:

  • Scientific evidence: the latest findings from research studies, clinical guidelines, and professional recommendations.
  • Professional expertise: the experience and clinical judgement of the pharmacist providing the consultation.
  • Patient preferences: the individual situation, needs, values, and expectations of the patient.

Only the combination of these three pillars enables high-quality counselling and shared, informed decision-making. eviflow supports this evidence-based counselling process by integrating the latest scientific recommendations into structured workflows while leaving room for the clinical judgement of the healthcare professional and systematically considering the individual needs and preferences of each patient. In this way, eviflow promotes counselling that is both standardised and person-centred.

No. eviflow is not a medical device. The web application is a digital tool that provides structured access to evidence-based information and guides pharmacists step by step through established counselling processes. Professional assessment and all decisions regarding the supply of medicines remain the sole responsibility of the healthcare professional providing the consultation.

An independent regulatory assessment has confirmed that eviflow does not have a medical purpose within the meaning of the applicable legislation and does not perform any functions that would qualify it as medical device software under the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR, Regulation (EU) 2017/745).

Registration, getting started & pricing plans

Register your pharmacy via the registration link. Once your application has been reviewed, your eviflow account will be activated. You will be notified by email and will receive a link to complete the setup of your pharmacy and create an initial administrators account.

Did you not receive an email? Please also check your spam folder.

Once activated, the administrators can add and manage the advising staff members.

Further information can be found under Getting started.

eviflow is based on two user roles: Administrator and Counsellor.

Administrators set up the pharmacy, manage team members and permissions, and activate devices such as pharmacy computers or tablets.

Counsellors can then log in on these authorised devices using their personal PIN. This provides quick and easy access to the counselling platform without requiring an email address and password for every consultation.

In this way, eviflow combines an efficient workflow with a high level of data protection and security.

eviflow has been designed to be intuitive and usable without extensive training.

For an easy start, short video guides are available in three languages (DE, FR, IT). These show how to add and manage the advising team as well as how to use eviflow in everyday counselling. In addition, a quick guide provides a compact overview of the most important steps for getting started.

Further information can be found under Getting started.

During the test phase from August to October 2026, using eviflow is free of charge.

After that, the package prices listed on the home page apply. These are based on the number of consultations carried out, in order to meet the differing needs of pharmacies.

The packages are valid until the included consultations have been used up, or for a maximum of 12 months from activation. After that, a new package is automatically activated.

For pharmacies with a higher consultation volume, as well as for chains, groups or regional projects, we offer individual solutions. Feel free to contact us for a non-binding offer at info@eviflow.ch.

Usage

eviflow is available in German, French, Italian and English.

Customers can complete digital self-reporting in their preferred language and also receive the personalised information sheet in that language. The information entered is automatically displayed to the pharmacy team in the pharmacy's language.

If required, the additional information within eviflow can also be displayed in the customer's language. This makes counselling in foreign languages easier.

An extension to include further languages for self-reporting and the information sheets is planned.

Customers can start the self-reporting process in two ways:

  • Before visiting the pharmacy: Via a link on a website, for example your pharmacy's website. You will find the corresponding link in eviflow at the respective flow (copy link). Customers can complete the questionnaire at their own pace on their smartphone before visiting the pharmacy.
  • Directly in the pharmacy: Using a flyer with a QR code that provides direct access to the self-reporting process. The flyers are available for download under Getting started.

After completing the self-reporting process, customers receive a code to present during the consultation at the pharmacy. The information entered can then be imported directly into eviflow and used during the consultation.

After completing the self-reporting process, a transfer code is displayed on the customer's smartphone. After logging in to eviflow as a counsellor, this code can be entered to import the information provided.

Alternatively, the QR code displayed on the smartphone can be scanned using a tablet's camera. The information is then imported automatically and the counselling process begins.

eviflow helps pharmacy teams carry out consultations in a structured way and in line with the latest recommendations, regardless of experience level. This allows even less experienced team members to be safely involved in the counselling process, while the necessary decisions and validations remain the responsibility of authorised healthcare professionals.

The pharmacy administrators decide which team members receive personal access to eviflow. Individual permissions can be assigned to each team member. For example, team members with validation rights (pharmacists) and those without validation rights (pharmacy technicians, students) can be assigned according to their role.

If a consultation is conducted by a team member without validation rights, it can only be completed after approval by a person authorised to validate. Approval is provided using a personal PIN.

Data protection, documentation and traceability

Yes. The counselling data is processed and stored securely in Switzerland without directly identifying personal data, in particular without names or dates of birth.

Detailed information can be found in the Privacy Policy.

All consultations carried out are automatically saved in a digital archive and can be viewed there at any time in the form of a counselling record.

The consultations from the last 30 days are accessible to all team members. For enhanced data protection, the administrators decide which team members additionally receive access to the complete archive.

In addition, the counselling records can be exported from the archive at any time and archived in your own system.

If you do not wish to renew your eviflow licence, access to the digital archive and to consultations already carried out remains available.

In addition, you can export the records of your eviflow consultations from the archive at any time and archive them in your own system. This means the documentation remains available independently of an active licence.

For each consultation, eviflow creates a unique documentation ID. To ensure traceability, this must be recorded in the pharmacy's customer file, for example as free text on the relevant sales item.

This way, the documentation ID can be retrieved via the customer history if needed, and the record of the corresponding eviflow consultation can be called up in the archive.

The concept of the documentation ID combines secure traceability with a data-minimising approach to personal data, thereby contributing to a high level of data protection for customers.

Technology

To use eviflow, an internet-capable device with a current web browser is sufficient. As eviflow runs as a web application, no installation and no special hardware or software is required.

Pharmacy computers and tablets are particularly suitable for use in the pharmacy. These allow convenient use both during the consultation and for importing the information customers have entered in advance.

To use digital self-reporting, customers only need a smartphone with internet access and a current web browser. No app needs to be installed and no user account needs to be created.

Alternatively, the entire assessment can also be carried out directly by the pharmacy team on a pharmacy device. In this case, customers do not need their own smartphone.

Yes. In principle, an internet connection is required to use eviflow.

However, eviflow has been designed so that an ongoing consultation can be continued and completed even during a temporary interruption of the connection. As soon as the internet connection is available again, the data is automatically synchronised with the system and the consultation is added.

In addition to these FAQs, further information and instructions are available in the Help section within eviflow.
